Transgender women will no longer be eligible to compete in the top two tiers of the new women's domestic cricket structure or the women's Hundred, as announced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday. This policy aligns with the International Cricket Council’s decision last year, which barred individuals who have undergone male puberty from participating in women's international competitions.

The issue of transgender participation has sparked debate across various sports as governing bodies, such as those in cycling, swimming, and athletics, aim to strike a balance between inclusivity and fair competition.
