An Egyptian wildcat, identified as a lynx, crossed the Egypt-Israel border near Mount Harif and attacked several Israeli soldiers, resulting in injuries. The unusual event quickly gained traction on social media, with many users responding humorously, even jokingly referring to the lynx as "antisemitic." Israeli authorities later captured the animal and sent it to a specialized medical facility for examination. While Israeli media speculated that the lynx had crossed from Egypt, no definitive proof was provided. The region's desert environment is home to various predators, making such encounters more likely. The lynx, known for its agility, sharp claws, and ability to hunt a variety of prey, has become the subject of online amusement, while also drawing attention to this lesser-known wild cat species.
