BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman stated that the BNP is advocating for early elections in order to restore stability and democracy in the country. She emphasized that a truly elected government is essential to effectively confront and counter the ongoing conspiracies. During her speech, she also remarked that Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has no right to stay in power for five years.

She made these comments while addressing a special council of the Central Executive Council of the Bangladesh Diploma Medical Association on Friday afternoon, April 11.

Selima Rahman reiterated that the BNP's call for elections is not motivated by a desire to return to power. Instead, the party is demanding elections as a means to restore democratic rights. According to her, elections are necessary to return the people's fundamental rights, which are currently under threat.

She further explained that the formation of an elected government is the key to ending the current instability in the country. Only through such a government, she said, can the conspiracies presently at play be resisted. Selima Rahman made it clear that the BNP is not afraid of participating in elections, even if they remain in the opposition.
