Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will soon introduce a five-year trade licence renewal system, allowing businesses and citizens to renew their licences for five years at a time instead of annually, DSCC Administrator Md Abdus Salam said on 16 August.

He made the announcement while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion titled “Local Business and Commerce, Law and Order, Traffic Congestion and Trade Licence Renewal Services,” jointly organised by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and DSCC in Dhaka.

Abdus Salam said the move aims to simplify the trade licence renewal process and make services more convenient for businesses and citizens. Under the proposed system, licences currently requiring annual renewal will be valid for five years before renewal.
