Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has launched its Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) SIM, marking a new milestone in the country’s telecom sector.

On Tuesday, February 3, under this service, BTCL successfully completed all technical operations, including voice and data calls. Foyez Ahmad Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, confirmed the launch via a social media post.

He stated that the country’s first BTCL MVNO SIM is now fully operational. Successful provisioning was completed for four key events: voice calls, data calls, mobile network integration, and GPON integration, along with successful test calls.

Foyez Ahmad Tayyab added that the provisioning, activation, and test call operations were observed in person at BTCL’s Gulistan and Ramna offices on Tuesday afternoon. He expressed hope that the live pilot of BTCL’s MVNO service would begin on February 8.

Earlier, on November 25 last year, BTCL received approval to operate the MVNO network on a trial basis. Experts believe that the launch of this modern technology represents a significant step forward in improving customer services at the state-run company.
