Under the guidance of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal has launched an initiative to provide food for stray dogs in the capital.

The program was organized under the supervision of Central Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary Riaz Anwar Hossain and initiated by Private Medical and Dental College Chhatra Dal Central Sangsad Co-Office Secretary Dr. MA Taiful Haque. The food distribution took place in the Bailey Road area on Sunday afternoon (September 14).

Leaders and activists present emphasized that politics is not only a struggle for power but also a responsibility toward neglected animals and society. “We see countless stray dogs starving across the city. Many are chased away, tortured, or even killed, but they are part of our community. This small initiative is our way to support them,” said Dr. MA Taiful Haque. He added that similar programs will continue in other areas of Dhaka.

Chhatra Dal leaders hope the initiative will raise awareness and encourage compassion toward animals, while contributing to a more humane city environment. Local residents have praised the effort, calling it a commendable example of how political organizations can positively impact society.

The organizers expressed hope that this program, founded on compassion and responsibility, can become a source of hope for the capital’s stray dogs.
