Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, has claimed that not all political parties are receiving equal opportunities during election campaigning, criticizing Bangladesh Television (BTV) by saying it “has not yet become Muslim.” He made these comments on Wednesday (January 7) after meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners at the Election Commission building.

Taher stated, “We have pointed out that there is currently no level playing field. On the ground, one party is receiving extensive publicity.” He added, “For instance, today I spoke with the Information Adviser and told him that your television, BTV, has not yet become Muslim because it has not become neutral. He more or less admitted this, citing helplessness. We are demanding immediate measures to ensure equal opportunities for all parties in campaigning.”
