Police recovered the body of a Russian national from the Green City residential complex of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi, Pabna.

The body of Rybakov Maksim (28), an employee of Atomtekhenergo, was found around 11:30 am on Sunday (January 4) in Room 31 on the third floor of Residential Building No. 8 in Green City.

According to police and related sources, Maksim’s roommate, another Russian national named Froliov, returned to the apartment on Sunday morning after spending his leave in Cox’s Bazar and found him lying motionless on the floor. He then informed the authorities.

Upon receiving the information, the company’s security team, Russian medical personnel, and Ishwardi police rushed to the scene. As part of legal procedures, an inquest report was prepared. Initial findings suggest that he may have died of a stroke.

Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mominuzzaman said the body was sent to the morgue of Pabna General Hospital for autopsy. After completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to the concerned company, which will arrange to repatriate it to Russia through the Russian Embassy.
