On November 3, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir lost his temper and slapped a party worker during a visit to the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman. A viral video shows him reacting after being pushed by a crowd of party leaders. Fakhrul, alongside newly sworn-in Mayor Shahadat, emphasized the need to prevent the return of a "fascist" government in future elections and criticized the Awami League for allegedly manipulating election results. He also expressed gratitude to the Interim Government for Shahadat's mayoral appointment.
