Mufti Muhammad Faizul Karim, Nayeb-e-Ameer (Vice President) of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, warned that the country would face turmoil if the BNP comes to power. He said,

"If the BNP comes to power, you won’t be able to sleep or run your businesses, and beautiful women won’t be able to go out on the streets. People, be aware—how much longer will you tolerate extortion, oppression, and tyranny?"

He made these remarks yesterday, Sunday afternoon, while addressing a public rally at Bakerganj Government College field in Barishal. The event, organized by Islami Andolan Bangladesh, demanded “necessary state reforms,” the “implementation of the July Charter,” and “a national election under the proportional representation (PR) system.”

Criticizing both the BNP and Awami League, Faizul Karim added,
"The extortion that once drove the Awami League from power still persists, and has even intensified. Cases of rape have not decreased—they’ve worsened. Land grabbing, previously blamed on the Awami League, continues today."
