During a midterm exam at Barisal University, a student was caught cheating and, in a state of panic, attempted to destroy evidence by swallowing the cheat paper. Following the incident, the university’s academic council decided to cancel the student's course enrollment and announced further disciplinary measures. The matter was formally confirmed in an official notice issued by the exam regulatory committee.

In addition to this case, several other students were found using unfair means and faced varying levels of punishment. However, some denied the allegations, despite being discovered with prohibited materials. Among the affected students, one argued that his written defense had been misinterpreted, claiming unjust treatment.

The university follows a structured process for handling cheating cases, where each incident is thoroughly reviewed before disciplinary actions are approved by both the academic council and syndicate. Officials reaffirmed that strict actions were taken only against students whose violations were proven, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic integrity.
