Bangladesh has reached a major milestone in food security, with government warehouses now holding 2,027,420 metric tonnes of food grains—the highest stock in the past five years. Food Adviser Ali Imam Majumder announced the update at a press briefing in Dhaka, noting that the reserve includes 1,696,787 tonnes of rice, 233,224 tonnes of wheat, and 97,409 tonnes of paddy, marking a record level since 2022.

Officials said the strong reserves eliminate any immediate risk of a food shortage and are expected to help keep rice prices stable.
