Bangladeshi Hafez Anas Mahfuz secured first place in the Sigarul Huffaz category (ages 8-12) at the 13th International Hifzul Quran Competition 2024, organized by Kuwait's Ministry of Religious Affairs. The event, held at Crowne Plaza, Kuwait, featured contestants from 74 countries and ran from November 14 to 19. Anas, a student of Markazu Faizil Quran Al-Islami in Dhaka, hails from Gopalganj and had previously won third place in the National Hifzul Quran Competition (PHP Quran) in 2023.

Bangladesh also celebrated another success as Qari Abu Zar Gifari secured third place in the Qerat category. Notably, Anas follows the footsteps of his madrasa peers, Muaz Mahmud and Saleh Ahmed Takreem, who previously triumphed in the World Quran Competition.
