The Awami League has called for a gathering at Zero Point in Dhaka on November 10 to protest against misrule and demand the restoration of democracy. The protest is against the deprivation of people's rights, the rise of fundamentalist forces, and disruptions to the lives of ordinary citizens. The day marks 'Shaheed Noor Hossain Day,' commemorating the martyrdom of Noor Hossain during a democratic movement in 1987. This is the first time since the August 5 student uprising that the Awami League has announced a field program for the day.
