Amid the ongoing surge in the prices of daily essentials, Commerce Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed, while visiting Karwan Bazar, threw a sharp and unexpected question at journalists: "Am I supposed to produce eggs with a machine?"
With egg prices soaring to new heights and wholesale markets halting sales, frustrated consumers have been leaving retail stores empty-handed. A determined journalist, seeking answers, directly asked the advisor: "Why has the egg crisis escalated like this?"
Salehuddin responded, "You don't see eggs because there simply aren't any. Around four and a half to five crore (45 to 50 million) eggs are produced daily, but am I supposed to make eggs with a machine?"
