Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized early Thursday following an altercation with an unidentified intruder at his Bandra (West) apartment in Mumbai. The incident took place between 2:00 am and 2:30 am when the intruder allegedly broke into Khan’s 11th-floor residence intending to commit burglary. Khan, awakened by suspicious noises, confronted the intruder, leading to a scuffle.

Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital around 3:00 am by his elder son, Ibrahim, and a caretaker. According to Dr. Niraj Uttamani, the hospital’s COO, Khan sustained six incised wounds from a sharp object. Two of the injuries, one near his spinal cord and another on his left wrist, were deep and will require plastic surgery. While doctors confirmed the injuries are not life-threatening, the full impact will only be known after surgery, led by neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange.

Bandra police and the Mumbai crime branch are investigating the incident, focusing on identifying the intruder and uncovering how the building’s security was breached. “An unidentified person entered actor Saif Ali Khan’s residence. A scuffle ensued, resulting in injuries to the actor, who is currently undergoing treatment. The investigation is underway,” said DCP Dikshit Gedam. Authorities are also reviewing the building’s CCTV footage to aid the inquiry.
