Manikganj resident Mohammad Ansar Ali, around 90 years old, lives with his wife and two daughters, while his other three daughters are already married. He has no sons.

To support his family, he carries rice sacks on his back from mills and warehouses, earning only Tk 5–10 per trip. Sometimes, he also helps people reach their homes, earning Tk 10–20. In total, he makes about Tk 250–300 a day, which is not enough to properly run his household.

He says the work is very hard and painful at his age, but he remains firm that he will never beg, even if it costs him his life.
