Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H. Mansur announced that 80% of the stolen reserve funds have been successfully recovered. He stated, “Legal efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining amount. Winning the case will enable us to retrieve the rest of the money.”

Governor Mansur made these remarks on Saturday (January 11) at an event titled “Branding Bangladesh,” held at a hotel in Dhaka.

He emphasized that implementing good governance has curbed capital flight from the country. “Despite political instability, remittance flows have reached a record high,” he noted.

Highlighting financial crimes, Mansur revealed, “A company in Chattogram has laundered $20 billion abroad. Efforts are in progress to recover these funds. Foreign organizations, including the United States' FBI, are collaborating with us, and foreign legal experts are being engaged for this purpose.”
