Body of Arabi Akhtar (7), the child who claimed ransom after going missing in Bogra, was found in a pond in the village.

The body was found floating in a pond in Gokul Sarkarpara village of Bogra Sadar on Tuesday (November 19) evening.

Bogra Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Moinuddin confirmed this information.

He said that Kajal Mia's daughter Arabic Akhtar of Gokul Sarkarpara village of Sadar Upazila went missing while playing sports near the house on Tuesday morning. After that, when the girl's picture was searched on social media, the child's father was called from several mobile numbers and asked for ransom.

He said that the police identified and monitored the location of the ransom demand numbers with the help of information technology. It is believed that after seeing the post on Facebook, the scammer called to extort money. In the meantime, the body of the child was found in the pond near the house after evening.

Quoting Arbir's family, the OC said the child was an epileptic. It is believed to have fallen into the pond unknowingly during sports. The child's body has been handed over to the family after legal proceedings.
