On Sunday, 550 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip, marking the first day of the newly implemented ceasefire. According to the Gaza Ministry of Interior, "Since Sunday morning, 552 humanitarian aid trucks have entered the Strip through the crossings, including 242 for the northern region.” The shipments included vital supplies such as fuel, medical aid, food, vegetables, and fruits, with additional efforts underway to bring more aid into Gaza.

The ceasefire agreement, which took effect at 11:15 a.m. local time after a short delay, also included the release of prisoners. Israel freed 90 Palestinian prisoners, including 21 minors and 69 women, while Hamas released three Israeli captives, handing them over to the Red Cross. This truce comes after 15 months of conflict, representing a significant step toward de-escalation.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza has resulted in immense devastation, with nearly 47,000 people killed and over 110,700 injured since October 2023, according to local health officials. The war has also caused severe humanitarian crises, leading international courts to initiate war crime investigations against Israeli leaders.
