An unprecedented event is set to occur in the future, according to the Islamic calendar cycle and astronomical calculations. In 2039, Muslims will have the rare opportunity to celebrate multiple Eids and perform Hajj twice in the same Gregorian year. This unusual occurrence arises due to the difference between the Hijri (lunar) and Gregorian (solar) calendars and is significant both religiously and scientifically.

Astronomical calculations indicate that in 2039, Muslims worldwide will experience three Eids and two Hajjs within a single Gregorian year. That year will see two Eid al-Adha celebrations, one Eid al-Fitr, and two separate Hajjs.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Misnad, a prominent climate and astronomy expert in Saudi Arabia, explained that this exceptional event is caused by the Hijri calendar advancing approximately 10–11 days each year compared to the Gregorian calendar.

According to his calculations, the first Eid al-Adha will fall on January 6, 2039, corresponding to the 10th of Zilhaj in the Hijri year 1460. This marks the end of the first Hajj season and the day of sacrifice. Later in the year, the Hijri calendar will complete a full cycle, and the second Hajj will conclude on December 26, 2039, coinciding with the 10th of Zilhaj 1461. This means two separate Hajjs will occur in the same Gregorian year, a historically rare event.

Two separate Days of Arafah will also be observed before these Eids. The Day of Arafah, when millions of pilgrims gather on the plain of Arafat to pray and worship, is considered the most important day of Hajj.

Eid al-Fitr is expected to be celebrated on October 19, 2039, falling between the two Eid al-Adha celebrations. As a result, Muslims will experience a unique religious cycle in a single year, combining fasting, Hajj, sacrifice, and Eid.
