Police recovered the body of 19-year-old Sajib from the staircase of his girlfriend’s residence in Dhaka’s Bangshal area on Saturday evening. The body was discovered on the fourth floor of a building at 93/1 Agamashi Lane, with a GI wire around his neck. Authorities have sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

Relatives claimed that Sajib was allegedly lured to the house by a young woman named Khadija and was subsequently detained, tortured, and killed by her family members. Sajib and Khadija had reportedly been in a long-term romantic relationship, which was not approved by their families.

Bangshal Police are investigating the case and awaiting the autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death. Sub-Inspector Md Dulal Haque stated that it is still unclear whether Sajib’s death was a result of murder or suicide.
