The court has granted bail to Bibi Sawda, a female member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, who was arrested earlier. On Tuesday, the court issued the bail order after hearing both sides.

The information was confirmed by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. In a Facebook post, he said, “Alhamdulillah, sister Sawda Sumi is released.”

Bibi Sawda was arrested by police at her residence in Bhola municipality at around 11 PM on April 5. She was produced before the Bhola court on Tuesday morning.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami issued a statement condemning the incident. The party’s Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, also demanded her release in a Facebook post.
