Recent images depicting nine pillars of light above the coastal town of Daisen in Tottori, Japan, have ignited widespread speculation regarding their origin. Originally circulated on social media, these photos garnered attention and prompted theories about extraterrestrial or cosmic phenomena.

However, a report by Mothership has unveiled the true source behind these enigmatic pillars. The phenomenon, known in Japan as "Isaribi Kochu" or "fish-attracting light pillars," stems from fishing boats employing bright lights called "Isaribi" to lure larger catches, especially in squid fishing. The utilization of these powerful lights on the boats is accountable for the captivating spectacle in the night sky, dispelling the conjecture surrounding cosmic or extraterrestrial origins.
