Pakistan is poised to launch its new satellite, PAKSAT MM-1, on May 30 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in China, a significant step towards enhancing national connectivity. The satellite, developed by Suparco, aims to meet the nation's escalating communication needs by providing advanced services across various bands, including high-speed internet and SBAS services. Dr. Usman Iftikhar, the project manager, highlights its placement in Geostationary Orbit, approximately 36,000 km above Earth. This launch follows the recent ICUBE-Q launch on China's Chang'E6 mission. PAKSAT MM-1 is expected to play a crucial role in Pakistan's journey towards digital transformation, offering services like broadband internet, TV broadcasting, and mobile banking.
