The head of the UN's nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, revealed that Iran temporarily closed its nuclear facilities due to "security considerations" following a significant missile and drone strike on Israel. Grossi expressed concern over potential Israeli retaliation, stating inspectors were informed of the closures on Sunday. He decided to delay their return until calm was ensured, urging extreme caution. Iran's strike, with nearly 300 drones and missiles, was in response to an attack in Damascus that killed seven Revolutionary Guards members. This event has raised fears of broader regional conflict, with Israel previously conducting military operations against nuclear sites in Iraq and Syria, as well as being accused of cyberattacks and assassinations related to Iran's nuclear program. Israel alleges Iran seeks nuclear weapons, which Tehran denies.
