IndiGo Airlines, a major Indian low-cost carrier, has introduced a feature allowing female travelers to see where other women are seated during online check-in. This initiative, aimed at enhancing comfort for solo female passengers and families, aligns with IndiGo’s “#GirlPower ethos.” Although the airline didn't explicitly state the reason, it follows global concerns about in-flight assaults, predominantly against women and children. In the U.S., the FBI reported 96 in-flight sexual assault cases in 2023, highlighting the prevalence of such incidents and the need for preventive measures.
