The Chinese military has entered India's Arunachal Pradesh territory, including the seven sister states, and has also camped in the Kapapu area of the Anjao district. The Chinese army is said to have used tactics such as burning wood, Chinese names on rocks, and pictures of Chinese food items to claim ownership of Indian territory—an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) camp at Kapapu near the Hadigra Pass on the McMahon Line. In August 2022, pictures of PLA soldiers overseeing infrastructure construction activities near Hadigra Lake went viral. In 2021, satellite images showed the Chinese military constructing a second cluster of at least 60 buildings inside Indian territory.
