Hansi Flick has been appointed as Barcelona's new coach on a two-year deal worth €3.5m annually, plus incentives. The former Bayern Munich manager replaces Xavi Hernández, who was sacked despite previously agreeing to continue. Flick, known for his high-pressing style, brings extensive club and international experience, including winning the Champions League with Bayern. Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, had long desired a German coach and initiated talks with Flick months ago. Xavi waived €16m of his owed compensation, allowing for the announcement. Flick expressed his excitement, aligning his attacking football philosophy with Barcelona's, and aims to achieve significant success with the club.
