81-year-old Rani Hamid, a seasoned Bangladeshi chess player, clinched a spot on the national women's team for the 45th Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary, this September. Despite finishing sixth in the national championship, she earned the opportunity when runner-up Sharmin Sultana Shirin withdrew for personal reasons.
