Netflix intends to transform former department stores into entertainment hubs. The vacant space that was once a Sears in your local mall may soon be transformed into a location where you can socialize with the Demogorgon from "Stranger Things." ⁠

Two 100,000+ square foot entertainment venues—one at Galleria Dallas in Texas and the other at the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania—were announced by the streaming colossus yesterday. * *
It is their most recent and largest venture into live experiences, which are more focused on fostering audience interest in the content than directly generating revenue. Netflix has previously experimented with pop-up stores and restaurants. 

Each location, which has been named "Netflix House," will offer a variety of amenities, including cuisine, beverages, and exclusive merchandise.
