Melinda French Gates announced her departure from the charitable foundation she co-founded with Bill Gates, receiving $12.5 billion for her independent efforts to support women and families. Despite their divorce, the couple had committed to continuing their philanthropic work. With Melinda's exit, the foundation will be renamed Gates Foundation, with Bill Gates as sole chairperson. Melinda, citing concerns over the rollback of women's rights globally, aims to address this issue in her future endeavors. The Gates Foundation, renowned for its contributions to public health, has disbursed over $75 billion since its establishment.
