The most recent data from Bangladesh Bank shows that for the first 19 days of October 2024, remittances to Bangladesh totalled $1.553 billion. This represents a daily average inflow of $87 million.

Remittances over the same period in September, on the other hand, came to $1.47 billion, suggesting that October's numbers were significantly higher.

When the sources were broken down, the remittances originated from a number of banking channels:

$400.8 million was given by state-owned banks.

$78 million was from specialised banks.

The largest contributors, private banks, brought in $1.0496 billion.

Transfers of $4.10 million were made possible by foreign bank branches in Bangladesh.

Furthermore, according to Bangladesh Bank, $546.30 million was sent by expats between October 13 and October 19, $561.9 million was received between October 6 and 12, and $424.7 million was received in the first five days of the month.
