The Weeknd, also known as Abel Tesfaye, has pledged an additional $2 million from his XO Humanitarian Fund to aid the World Food Programme's efforts in Gaza. This contribution aims to provide essential food supplies, including fortified wheat flour, to over 157,000 Palestinians for a month. Having previously donated $2.5 million in December 2023, Tesfaye's total support for Gaza relief now stands at $4.5 million. Urgent action is needed as Gaza faces severe food shortages, with approximately 30% of children under two suffering from acute malnutrition. The UN warns that the situation is approaching famine, emphasizing the critical need for humanitarian assistance.
