Amid mounting public outrage over the Gaza conflict, the Maldives government announced plans to prohibit entry for Israeli passport holders, citing changes in legislation. President Mohamed Muizu intends to appoint a special envoy to assess Palestinian needs and initiate a fundraising campaign. In response, Israel's Foreign Ministry advised Israelis to avoid traveling to the Maldives, including those with dual citizenship, and suggested those already present to consider leaving. Approximately 11,000 Israelis visited the Maldives last year, constituting a mere 0.6% of total tourist arrivals.
