South Korean activists from Fighters for a Free North Korea (FFNK) launched balloons carrying USB sticks with K-pop and K-dramas, leaflets condemning Kim Jong Un, and one-dollar bills to North Korea. This follows North Korea's recent launch of balloons containing trash and "filth" to the South. FFNK, led by defector Park Sang-hak, has been sending such balloons for years, despite a government ban. Park recalls his own experience of encountering these balloons in North Korea, which inspired him to flee in 2000. South Korea's resumed military activities near the border, following these incidents, have heightened tensions and raised concerns among residents near the demarcation line.
