Grandfather in Narsingdi Warns Residents Not to Lend Money to His Grandson Through Public Loudspeaker Announcement
A video from Narsingdi has gone viral on social media after a grandfather publicly warned local residents not to lend money or engage in financial transactions with his grandson.
The incident took place on Saturday (22 August) in Paikan Beparipara village under Borochapa Union of Monohardi Upazila. The grandfather, Karam Ali Bepari, made the announcement regarding his grandson, Md. Mahabub Mia.
Borochapa Union Parishad Chairman Sultan Uddin confirmed the incident.
The loudspeaker announcement stated: “On behalf of Karam Ali Bepari, all residents are requested not to give Mahabub Mia any loans, allow purchases on credit, or engage in financial dealings with him. Anyone who does so despite this warning may face a written complaint at the police station.”
According to locals, Mahabub had borrowed money from several people and later left his grandfather responsible for repaying the debts. Frustrated by the repeated incidents, Karam Ali issued the public warning.
Chairman Sultan Uddin said there have been discussions in the area about Mahabub’s alleged drug addiction, but he is not aware of his involvement in any other criminal activities.
