A woman was gang-raped in a moving bus in Chattogram's Karnaphuli upazila, with two people arrested. The helper, Md Sahedul Islam Mizan, 19, and the driver, Azad Khan Rana, 20, were identified as the victims. The victim was left alone in the bus when other passengers got off at the Moijjartek junction. When the bus crossed the toll plaza of Shah Amanat Bridge, helper Mizan found her alone and raped her. The driver also raped the woman when the bus went around the bridge area and crossed it again towards Patiya. The bus then ran away, leaving the victim at Shantirhat bazar. The victim's husband filed a case under the Prevention of Women and Child Repression Act against the helper and driver at the Karnaphuli police station on 9 September.
