The election will fill 28 central positions, with a draft voter list indicating 25,860 registered voters, according to the CUCSU Election Commission. Chief Election Commissioner Professor Monir Uddin stated that steel ballot boxes will be used instead of transparent ones due to cost and ballot-size issues. To ensure voter convenience, larger faculties will be designated as polling centres, and mobiles, electronic devices, and bags will be prohibited inside booths. Additional booths will be arranged, and OMR scanning may be implemented for vote counting, with a minimum estimated cost of Tk25 lakh. The election schedule was announced on 28 August. Nomination papers will be distributed from 14 September, and the final candidate list will be published on 25 September. All candidates must undergo mandatory dope tests, with positive results leading to disqualification. While there have been concerns about the political affiliations of the management committee, the CEC assured that the election will be conducted transparently with strict law and order measures in place. ## Original reporting: https://www.tbsnews.net/bangladesh/politics/transparent-ballot-boxes-too-costly-student-polls-cucsu-chief-election HTML: https://tezzfeed.com/bangladeshi-news/transparent-ballot-boxes-too-expensive-for-elections-steel-boxes-to-be-used-instead-cucsu-cec-1757569504820 Bangladesh desk: https://tezzfeed.com/bangladeshi-news.md Agent map: https://tezzfeed.com/llms.txt
