The name and design of the Sheikh Hasina International Cricket Stadium in Purbachal, known as 'The Boat,' are set to change. The boat symbol will be removed from the design, and the stadium will be recognized by a different name. With the anticipated change in government, it is expected that various aspects of the stadium will be altered. Consequently, the BCB board of directors, led by Faruque Ahmed, is adopting a 'go slow' approach regarding the stadium. As the initial step in this approach, the BCB plans to cancel the construction tender for the stadium. Although the deadline for tender submissions was August 30, a source has indicated that the BCB board will decide to cancel the tender at their meeting scheduled for the day after tomorrow.
