Palak highlighted the significance of Bangabandhu Satellite-1, noting its contribution to both domestic self-reliance and foreign exchange earnings. With 40 domestic channels and several international ones utilizing the satellite, its revenue has reached approximately 150 crore rupees. Efforts are underway to enhance its revenue generation further. The construction and launch of Bangabandhu Satellite-1 in 2018 incurred costs of around 2,765 crores. Positioned at 119.1 degrees east longitude, Bangabandhu Satellite-2 will extend coverage from Indonesia to Tajikistan, benefiting Bangladesh, SAARC countries, the Philippines, and Indonesia with robust KU and C band signals.
