Bangladesh's interim government's foreign affairs advisor, Mohammed Touhid Hossain, has said that the country's home and law ministries could request her extradition from India due to the numerous cases against Sheikh Hasina in Bangladesh. Hossain emphasized that if a demand is made from Bangladesh, it could create an embarrassing situation for the Indian government. Sheikh Hasina went to India on August 5 after a violent student uprising. Multiple cases have been filed against her and 24 others in the International Criminal Court.
