A student named Md. Hafiz (21 years old) was killed in a dispute over the withdrawal of relief money for flood victims in West Rampura. He was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty. 
The deceased was an HSC candidate in the 2024 batch of Hafiz Siddheswari College. He is the son of Lutfur Rahman of West Rampura.
The victim's friend, Naeem, said that we were collecting relief money for homeless people. Another group from the Ulon area of Rampura wants to collect money for relief with us and asks us to take relief with them. Our seniors told them we have many people in our group, and we don't want to take you into our group. They got angry about this.

On Saturday (August 24) in the evening, we were collecting money. At that time, Hafiz was sitting in the tea shop. Suddenly, 15 to 20 people with sharp weapons hacked Hafiz and left him injured.

Around 8:40 PM, we rescued him and took him to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty said that Hafiz was no longer alive.
