In contrast, petrol and octane prices remain unchanged at Tk127 and Tk131 per litre, respectively. This adjustment is part of the government's monthly review of fuel prices since March, based on global market trends using an automatic pricing formula. Despite a slight decrease in global fuel prices, local import costs have risen due to the devaluation of the taka against the US dollar. Previous adjustments saw diesel and kerosene prices increase by Tk0.75 per litre in June, while petrol and octane prices were raised by Tk2.5 per litre. The government aims to maintain stability in domestic fuel pricing amidst fluctuations in international markets, having previously lowered prices in March and April after increases in May and June.
