Former minister and Awami League Advisory Council member Amir Hossain Amu, known for his fondness for Diet Coke, requested through his lawyer that the court allow him to have this drink along with sandwiches and water. The court, however, denied the request.

On the day the government fell, the court ordered Amu to be shown arrested in connection with a worker’s killing in Jatrabari. His lawyer, Reza, stated that Amu is unwell and needs to eat every half hour, while prosecution inspector Md. Zahid cited testing concerns. The court ultimately rejected the petition for food.
