HSC and equivalent exam candidates are protesting, demanding promotion or an automatic pass based on SSC results instead of taking postponed exams. Students have been staging human chains, protests, and sit-ins in Dhaka and across the country for several days. Exam Controller Professor Abul Bashar informed that the previously announced exam routine for September 11 has been verbally canceled by the Education Secretary. While the decision for an automatic pass is beyond his authority, he assured that the Chief Advisor, Education Advisor, and Secretary will discuss the matter and likely make a favorable decision.
