Six More Members Likely to Join Tarique Rahman-Led Cabinet

Six more members are reportedly set to join the cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The new members are expected to take their oaths at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday (August 21) evening, administered by the newly appointed President.

The information was disclosed by sources in the Cabinet Division. However, the names of only four of the six prospective cabinet members have so far been confirmed. Among them are three ministers and one state minister.

They are BNP Standing Committee member and MP Abdul Moyeen Khan, Jatiya Party Chairman and MP Barrister Andaleeb Rahman Partha, Bandarban MP Saching Prue Jerry, and Gaibandha-4 MP Mohammad Shamim Kaiser Lincoln.

According to relevant sources, the President will administer the oath to three new ministers and one state minister. Officials from the Cabinet Division have already contacted several prospective ministers and state ministers and requested them to be present at Bangabhaban in the evening.

Meanwhile, sources in the Cabinet Division said that changes may also be made in the ministries of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Agriculture, Food, Power and Energy, Local Government, and Information and Broadcasting.

President's Press Secretary Md. Sarwar Alam said that the Durbar Hall at Bangabhaban has been prepared for the oath-taking ceremony and that all arrangements have been completed. The Cabinet Division is coordinating and conducting the ceremony.

Officials from the Cabinet Division said that more than 1,200 guests have been invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony.
