Ashik Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi skydiver, was honored by United Commercial Bank PLC for his record-breaking jump from 41,000 feet. Inspired by the resilience of Bangladesh's people, Ashik hoped his achievement would encourage others to explore new horizons. He dedicated his success to the indomitable spirit of his fellow citizens. During the jump, Ashik exited a Piper PA-42 aircraft, freefalling for nearly three minutes and reaching a speed of 314 km/h before deploying his parachute. The jump's statistics, pending official certification by Guinness, indicate a new world record. UCB's managing director, Arif Quadri, praised Ashik's accomplishment.
