MM Jamil Ahmed, Deputy General Manager at the Barisal office of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation, is facing charges for embezzling 1.31 crore taka. Ahmed, who began his employment in April 2000, used a fraudulent freedom fighter certificate linked to his deceased father to secure his position. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against him, revealing the extensive misuse of state funds over 24 years as salary and allowances. Ahmed’s mother’s honorarium as a freedom fighter’s widow has also been halted.
