Bangladesh secured a spot in the SAFF Under-20 Championship final after a thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout win over India in Kathmandu. The semi-final ended 1-1 in regular time, with Asadul Mollah giving Bangladesh the lead in the 36th minute, only for Ricky Meetei Haobom to equalize for India in the 75th minute. The match proceeded to penalties, where Bangladesh’s substitute goalkeeper Mohammad Asif made two crucial saves, ensuring his team's victory. Bangladesh will face Nepal in the final on Wednesday. Despite losing their captain Mehedi Hasan Srabon to injury and another player to a red card, Bangladesh held their nerve. Head coach Maruful Haque expressed confidence ahead of the final. Bangladesh reached the semis by finishing second in Group A, while India topped Group B with an unbeaten record. Nepal, the Group A winners, advanced to the final after defeating Bhutan in a penalty shootout.
